It’s no secret I don’t have my dream home. And that’s been the whole purpose of this blog. It’s about inspiring others to make the best of whatever house they’re in. And to make it feel like home.
Today I wanted to decorate my porch for Fall. I have a wonderful big porch. It was a bit of a challenge to decide where to put my fall display.
My walkway was a little too narrow, so I ended up putting it right next to my door and I honestly think it’s perfect!!
I’m all about making my decor affordable. Because I’m probably going to be in a different house soon, so I want decor that’s versatile, or extremely cheap.
This setup was very affordable. I used my neighbor’s garden to get a few pumpkins (mine didn’t grow! …and Walmart isn’t the most affordable for pumpkins).
I got my straw bales at Hobby Lobby 40% off.
My wreath- is the first wreath I EVER made a few years ago! It’s not my favorite anymore but I am reusing it and I love it in this space.
There you have it: consider using your old decorations/wreaths for your fall porch decor!
Signs are from the Dollar Tree! Just in case they get ruined I won’t be out too much money. (This is their second year… so I’m getting my money’s worth!)
Mums at Walmart for $5.47. I’ll switch them to my nice pots once my seasonal flowers die. Is it ideal? Not necessarily…. But it saves me an extra $10-$15 on just pots for mums that will live perfectly here for a couple weeks.
There you have it! What do you think of my Porch Decor? Here’s your motivation for your Monday. Pull out your “dying” fall decor you might be tired of and jazz up your porch entry for a nice inviting touch to your humble abode.
My husband LOVES it. Says it feels like when he walks to the porch after work he feels less like a “renter” and more like a “homeowner”. Essentially, it makes him feel at home.
Embracing the character and the space (or lack of) really helps me to enjoy where I’m at in the moment. So if you’re like me and you don’t live in your Instagram house, join the club. Take about $20 and you’ll have a beautiful porch that’s inviting.
Or, if you are in your perfect house, and you don’t know where to start, look around at your decorations you might be tired of, or head to your neighbor’s small garden business and buy some fall pumpkins to make your porch feel welcoming this season.
I can’t wait to see your porch decorations.
Happy homemaking!

Kelsie Ann
