Welcome to Kiddie Corner! I have been so excited to start this blogging series a new mother learning how to balance living areas and toy clutter!

When I was a little girl, I definitely tried to take over decorating my house. I was convinced it was my calling in life (especially over dishes, laundry, or babysitting).

My Mom has a great sense of style and decorating. Don’t get me wrong. I just loved it so much.

I would sketch out my ideas and try to convince my Mom to rearrange her furniture or redecorate. I told her she needed themes. I was literally 11 years old.

When I was cleaning out some papers, I found my childhood purple plaid notebook and a drawing I had made. It was full of my “modest clothing line that was actually “cute” and also my famous interior designer recommendations for my one client: My mom.

I had “invented” a saying I wanted to put in vinyl lettering with a bookcase, lamps, all of it. Yes I’m pretty sure I “invented” my quote.

I was a funny kid, that’s for sure.

Decorate a corner for kids? YES please!

My mom always listened to my ideas and never completely shut me down. She often reminded me of the impracticality of my designs but I don’t think I was phased at all.

I just kept designing. Probably to get out of chores honestly.

One thing I did NOT understand was why my mom didn’t like every. Single. One. Of my ideas. And now that I have a child, I UNDERSTAND.

Oops.

My “designs” were NOT:

•functional for a moving, living, family

•NOT KID FRIENDLY

• didn’t work with the purpose of the space!

• nor did it support my Mom’s decorating budget.

So now I’m older, and hopefully wiser…. Mainly because I am living a normal life of budgets, tight living spaces, and a baby that is so full of mischief!!

And that’s why I created this KIDDIE CORNER on my blog!!

It’s for you Momma. It’s so you can try to find your baby’s toys classy in your living room. Trust me. I get it. The clutter stresses me out!

This corner is for Mommas, aunts, grandmas, sitters, — anyone who wants a little corner for their baby, toddler, young child to PLAY without playing with your decorations.

You’ll still have to baby-proof.

However, introducing activities that makes your toddler feel like he or she can “decorate” and be part of all the festive fun will help.

And that’s why I call it Kiddie Corner.

I have found that no matter where I am, my child follows. The kitchen, the bathroom, the closet, the pantry.

Keeping a little corner for my child to play with a toy while I fold laundry is a lifesaver.

Now I haven’t been desperate enough to put a kiddie corner of toys in my bathroom…. Lol that is one space for me that I will never compromise 

So, welcome to Kiddie Corner.

I have ideas and my favors products for your kiddie corner to help you keep your sanity and keep your living room classy.

Ideas for storing said toys in those “unconventional” corners.

Ideas for helping you child celebrate EVERY season with you!!

Not only is this educational but it’s cute and these toys will feel brand new with each season that changes!

That’s one area in your house you can teach about the seasons and your child will have an ongoing collection of seasonal activities to stay occupied and feel part of all the seasonal fun.

We’ve got this momma. I’m all about being real. I’m all for authenticity. I’m here to tell you it’s okay to have toys cluttering your main living space.

IT IS NORMAL.

Let’s find ways to make it fun and exciting. For you to set up with your seasonal decorations. To schedule and plan for circulating your toys throughout the house, the seasons, and accommodating with your child’s age and needs.

So it doesn’t stress you out every single time you walk by. And maybe just makes you smile :!

And your little kiddies will enjoy having their only little corners throughout the house that they could “decorate” too if they wanted.

Let’s inspire creativity in their young minds.

Let’s stay crafty ladies!

Xoxo
