Yay! My first blog about seasonal toys and decorations for your child. The one you babysit, your nieces and nephews, your cute neighbor friends, your grandchildren, or your very own children.
As time goes along I’ll have more tips and tricks up my sleeve to share of favorite toys and all that fun stuff. But let’s just start with the seasonal kiddie corner.
My little boy is obsessed with my decorations. So, I have fabric pumpkins he plays with. Then he’s not dropping and breaking or damaging anything. But he is learning “pumpkin”.
He’s associating with the pumpkins he “can’t” touch in other areas of the house, or the pumpkins on the porch. I can point out the pumpkins at the store. And he knows the pumpkins on his little shelf are for him to play with.
Thanksgiving Kiddie Corner 1-2yr old
1. Fabric Pumpkins (do a color that you can use for the entire fall season. This would work for September, Halloween, Fall in general, and Thanksgiving)
You can find my tutorial and Easy Peasy instructions here.
2. Books!
I won’t rant about books. I’ll just say books are so wonderful for babies and kids. Even if I don’t read as much as a should to my baby, he’s at least looking at them and entertained because there are NEW ones each season.
I started this year with just 3-5 for the seasons.
These are the books I have (or ordered) and I love them.
This way my little guy can point out the fall things and feel part of it all.
3. A place to decorate.
I’m all about diy. But girl- just save yourself the time and pay the $12. It’s D•O•N•E
This cute leaf tree has so many options. For younger, simply putting the leaves on, naming colors, simple words.
For older children this is a great idea to put on the inside of one of your exterior doors so they can participate in a “Family Thankful Tree”.
Then write on the leaves. Things you are grateful for. One thing every day. It’s cute. And it adds meaning and a little bit of gratified to the changing fall colors and seasons.
(You guys. Christmas kiddie corner is going to make you feel like a kid again. Seriously.
4. A few educational activities
This wooden Turkey puzzle is so cute. I have it and my one year old loves wooden puzzles.
A Turkey! What’s thanksgiving without the traditional Turkey somewhere in your home?
Pilgrims are a great way to teach your child about history. Maybe you even have a more personal connection with an ancestor who was a pilgrim too!
Well, this is to get you started. A cute little seasonal corner that goes along with your fall decor.
Go to my sister posts for all the links in order of the child’s age. 🙂
Stay crafty!!
