Looking for a simple idea to make your porch a little festive, without going over the top?? Want to make sure you can keep your decor and not waste it?
I got you!
This is my Momma’s porch. I LOVE her brick entry. It’s pretty covered, and I literally put 5 things on it and it looked like a million bucks.
1. A thick, full wreath! (I know someone who makes those….. 😉 me!)
2. Sled- it’s a taller object and adds both depth and dimension. Something different than a bunch of Christmas trees.
3. Christmas trees! Are you kidding these are the cutest ever.
Let me add this up for you.
•wreath (varies on your budget) $-$$$
• sled- Hobby Lobby $25
•Christmas trees: $15-20 TOTAL
So add your wreath in there. In this case, it would be just under $200.
However, if you have found yourself a $50 wreath, you’ve got yourself less than a $100 porch!
What’s great about this is: the trees are timeless. Sure the flocked snow might be “out” but one of two things might also happen.
1- the flocked snow all falls off anyways 😅
2- just mix the trees with the ones in style. You can never go wrong with a collection of Christmas trees.
The sled: timeless. Dress up or down add antiques or modern pieces. A Christmas winter sled is a favorite, and has been for a long time. Doesn’t have to be the main focus, it can be in the background to add a little diversity to your arrangements.
There you go, 5 things needed to get this look for Christmas.
I do simple Saturdays for my amazing family, friends, and fans who might get a little overwhelmed at where to start with decorating- and all things home. This porch display can always be “decked out” or “over the top” and if that’s what you are looking for, these 5 items will be the start to get you there!!
Want a little more?
•add battery operated outdoor rated lights to your wreath and trees
• add a couple more trees and a cute Christmas sign about trees
•got a Santa you just love at your front door? Add him!
•reindeer are also a classic and can go with this display. Trees+ sled+ lights+ reindeer. Oh my! A Christmas collection kids will love to come to at your front door each time.
Start with the 5 items. Maybe next year do more. But you got this! You don’t have to go over the top. Seriously!
Stay crafty,
Xoxo
