Simple ways to style your bathroom. By Daisy Mae Decor
I chose lighter colors that still had subtle boldness. It’s calming, but it takes the attention from my tan walls. That’s what I’m going for!

1. Choose Your Colors/Theme

•Do I want my bathroom to look lighter, darker, etc.

•Is my bathroom needing to be kiddie friendly?

•how long am I going to used my bathroom stuff?

Pro Tip: Get online or go in store and look around. I highly Recommend it!

So many stores have their bathroom collections put together!! Already done the work for you. Maybe you like the shower curtain but not the rugs, and you want a plain rug. Usually, if you stay with the same store (preferably brand) their colors will be the exact same shade!

You may fall in love with the entire set! Repeat after me: shower curtain; towels, rugs, 3 dishes.

This way you can stay on budget and not completely overwhelm your counters. We want to keep the uncluttered and stress free! Just like us mommas, right?! Ha!

1. Pick out your shower curtain

This is the first thing to purchase. This is so you don’t overwhelm yourself. We don’t want that!

This shower curtain is from Target. I waited for it to go on sale and snagged it immediately.

I was looking for a light shower curtain that wasn’t overwhelming, but had some design on it to take care of my tan walls. I wanted the focus to be off the walls and somewhere else.

Possibly the world’s cutest shower curtain!! From Target. How to design your bathroom: A guide for beginners. By Daisy Mae Decor.
Pick your shower curtain first. You can decide everything based off of your shower curtain. It will make the process simpler for you.

A shower curtain is 10/10 the first thing you will notice in a bathroom. So make it count!

I love how the creams and whites mix. It’s versatile.

3. Choose your towels.

I wanted a soft color of towel so the boldness is in the shower curtain.

You don’t have to use the towels you buy for the look of the bathroom. Especially if you don’t have several in the same color/style. That’s ok!

Towels may not be a decoration but they add or detract from the style of your bathroom.

My rule of thumb is: plain towels for a busy shower curtain.

Again, stay with the store and look around. These are part of the same brand at target. I got them on a huge Black Friday deal!

Additionally, get hand towels and wash cloths to match. You want your bathroom to be just as put together as the bathroom collection on the shelf at the store!

These are Walmart Farmhouse style bathroom dishes. Come learn about the easy way to style your bathroom with Daisy Mae Decor.
Find 3 small dishes. You may already have the perfect jars or dishes in your home. I found these at Walmart.

4. Find a few small dishes.

These could be:

•soap dispenser

•cotton ball jar

•q-tip holder

•ring/jewelry tray

Here’s a simple rule for easy decorating…. Odd numbers. So in this case, (small area) I would probably get 3. They don’t have to match, or be the exact same. But it can be easier and sometimes cheaper.

I purchased mine at my local Walmart. Yep, I am mixing Target and Walmart (and in my future post: Amazon, Hobby Lobby, Seagull Book) .

5. Choose your Rugs

Your rugs don’t have to be patterned with your shower curtain. If you have a simple shower curtain, and you’re styling is not your forte, just get a simple stripe rug. Nothing too crazy.

If your shower curtain is busy, go for a plain color. They are here to tie it all together!

Pro tip! Don’t want your bathroom bland, but want a little “extra” style for your rug? Get a textured rug. Go for a plain rug that has some texture and thickness to it. Sometimes it may even have a subtle pattern. It will look amazing. Just trust me.

There you have it! 5 basic things to style your bathroom. This will set the tone of your bathroom. Next week, we will talk about decorating the bathroom. I’m keeping it simple and spreading it out so that 1. You’re not overwhelmed, and 2. So you’re breaking your budget all at once!
