wooden toys in basket

If you loved my Transportation Playroom Posts, then I think you will like some furniture ideas that are similar and will create a sophisticated, yet simple & clean look that we all appreciate. Especially with kids!

My Playroom reveal has been going viral for several months, and I have had so many requests to show some different styling options that could be easily bought playrooms. I love shopping and dreaming up a space, so I got right on it. I love all the pieces.

Right now the styles of playrooms have really clean, modern aethetics as well as soft, and natural colors.

So naturally I am sharing both!

Everyone has different aesthetics in their homes and also differing opinions on colors. You do you! I have a nursery in a pretty modern, neutral colors and although I love the clean, sleek, minimal look, you know me, I LOVE color. And that’s why I opted for a very colorful playroom and a calmer nursery this time around.

This light and airy style that is clean and sleek is something I think we can all appreciate for a toy room. I mean toys are colorful and that’s how its meant to be anyways. But having furniture and setting up your playroom with a plan can help make it a peaceful retreat and avoid overstimulating your little ones when they first walk in.

This cute storage organizer has a modern flare thanks to the natural wood legs. This would work well for Montessori shelves or if you opted to put baskets on the shelves as well.

This Toy bench would also look really nice in a modern playroom! You could do two toy shelves and this bench in the middle as well!

You could also add this organizer in your room as well! This would be cute for hanging a play apron or a couple dress up outfits on hangers, or just a cute sign hung on it and some cute decor items on the shelf! Shelves are a great way to add some dimension to a flat wall.

Let’s talk about this adorable shelf! This would also be perfect for small play areas. Such as nursery, bedroom, or even in your living room. I am a big advocate for making designated baby + kids places throughout the home.

In a playroom, this would be an adorable book shelf as well. You could also use it for displaying your seasonal toys or seasonal books.

Love how this piece matches. You can also display a few books on the front!

I love book shelves that display the front of books. I don’t personally have to have every book displayed like that, but a few. It somehow encourages my toddler to like books on his own! So this book shelf would be great for a few books set out (such as current interests/learning) and then the rest of books on another bookshelf somewhere else. And a toy bin in the bottom?! That is where I would put the stuff animals!

Now if you want that natural wood look, these shelves are super popular right now, especially for Montessori play.

Now this link has several options you can choose from! These look like durable shelves and they definitely give that modern, clean look and would fabulous with just about any decor!

This shelf is nice because it has dividers. I really like shelves with dividers because I like things to look tidy, and it makes it easier for the saying, “everything has a home” You can’t overload the shelves too much. These wooden pieces are definitely investment pieces

Now… in my opinion one of the MOST used items in a playroom is a table. My son puts everything on his table. Even read at it. This table mixes the white and wood and has a lot of great reviews! I love the modern look. I also like there no holes in the back of the chair. If you’ve had kids get stuck you know what I’m talking about.

Now, you probably regconize this table & chair set because I have it. I love this set! It has held up SO well. I was terrified to get white furniture but this wipes off so easy. I’ve used cleaning/disinfecting wipes, and baby wipes to take care of the usual “art” marks and it wipes right off. My husband and I love being able to sit at the table. Perfect height for us to kneel at.

I am a big believer of books shelves that have easy access for kids. I also think displaying books is a subtle way to help them gain a little interest on their own. This book shelf would be timeless with the classic birch wood look.
